Since starting in 2004, MPG Stickers has sold stickers in all 50 states, Canada, and Puerto Rico. What began as a sideline business to spread the good word and earn a few dollars on Cafepress is now a non-profit organization.

Today, MPG Stickers is an Acterra-sponsored non-profit entity.

MPG Stickers is a grassroots campaign which aims to accelerate the adoption of fuel efficient vehicles in the U.S. in order to limit the emissions of harmful greenhouse gases in the U.S. and the world. We aim to do it one sticker at a time!

There is now a broad consensus in the scientific community that climate change is the biggest threat to our environment, economy and society, and that greenhouse gases generated by human activity are a major cause of climate change. Climate change will increase extreme weather events such as floods, hurricanes and wildfires, increase water scarcity due to reduced snowpacks, create food shortages, cause the extinction of many species, increase the spread of diseases like malaria, etc. Climate change may also impact the global economy due to escalating costs of adaptation to climate change. The Stern report shows that it would be much cheaper to mitigate climate change now than to adapt to unmitigated climate change in the long term. While we are already committed to a certain amount of warming, scientists recommend that we limit global temperature increase to about 2 degrees celsius in order to limit the risk of dangerous climate change, which could render the planet uninhabitable to humans in the long-term.
